The Lord Hath Provided: New Job Postings Online
Actually, you really need to give the quietly awesome Alicia Rhine some credit, too (and maybe a raise ... sorry, just sayin'). She's posted a bunch of new job opportunities and if the churches know what's good for them, you'll be filling them. Look under the main menu bar category, "Resources," for the "Job Postings" link and go to town.
Global Conversations: Just Go, Will Ya!
The LRWC has this weekly gathering called Global Conversations, right? What? You don't know? Seriously, extract your head from that Schleiermacher book and book on over there on Mondays for lunch and catch a real glimpse of the globe. This coming Monday features wife and husband Moly and Boas from Kerala, India. I'll spare you their bio. It's too impressive to capture in this tiny space. Suffice it to say that if you want to know the real situation in India - for good and ill - they know.
Ted Hiebert and Anna Case-Winters filmed for "Matter and Beyond"
As you well know, Geoff Ashmun is charged with the Herculean task of undermining the faculty's modesty and sharing their great work with others. Ted Hiebert and Anna Case-Winters are his latest victims. A week or two ago, Ted and Anna were filmed by Mustafa Tabanli, producer and director of "Matter and Beyond," a series aired on EBRU TV that explores the ways in which scientists and spiritual thought leaders are working to find common ground. The fruits of their time together will reportedly surface later this summer. Ito read more on the series, follow this link: http://www.ebru.tv/en/ebrutv/LifestyleCulture/Matter_And_Beyon/c.310.html

Save the Date, Be a Fool
It's about that time again when the community gathers to laugh at itself. The Feast of Fools will be taking place on Saturday, April 26, 5:30 p.m. in the Common Room. All faculty, staff, students and families are invited and encouraged to participate (read: embarrass yourself). Folks can contact Jesse Larson, Gordon Pace, Jason Reynolds, Paige Stephan and Zabrina Santiago for questions. These dubious characters will be your MCs for the event!
Patel vs. the Politicians
There are more than a few folks at McCormick who think Eboo Patel is pretty rad. But, really, which is cooler: watching Patel's rad self or watching some Presidential candidates squirm? Fortunately, you don't have to choose. You can watch the Executive Director of IFYC on Sunday night, April 13, on CNN, 7-8:30 CT with Democratic hopefuls Obama and Clinton. Patel is hosting The Compassion Forum, a conversation on poverty, climate change, torture and genocide. In other words, heavy stuff.
